Dark rocks rise out of a tide turned to white mist. On the left, the sun drops through a break in heavy cloud and lays a band of gold across the water; wet sand in the foreground picks up the same orange light. This is Seselle Beach at Ares, on Galicia's Ria de Ares, photographed at sunset with a long exposure that softens every wave into fog.

What you see first is stone. A tall, fissured rock anchors the left foreground, its seaward face catching warm light while the rest stays in cool shadow. More jagged clusters step back through the middle of the frame toward a dark strip of distant coast. Between them the moving sea has been slowed into a milky veil that pools around every base - the classic long-exposure shore effect, here used to turn a rough Galician beach into something almost still.
The sky does the rest of the drama. Dense charcoal cloud sits above a hard line of yellow and orange at the horizon, where the sun sits low and slightly left of centre. Cool blues in the upper cloud meet warm reflection on the wet sand, so the photograph is a contrast piece as much as a seascape: hard rock against soft water, cold shadow against sunset fire.
Seselle sits on the southern shore of the Ria de Ares, near Chanteiro and Redes - the same stretch of coast that keeps returning in this Galicia series. At low light the rocks become silhouettes and the tide becomes weather. That is the picture: not a quiet postcard, but the Atlantic edge of Ares holding both weight and glow at once.
