Dusk settles over La Caleta, Cadiz's smallest and oldest beach, as the sky burns orange behind the Castillo de San Sebastian's lighthouse. A long exposure smooths the incoming tide into ribbons of blue and violet, turning a few seconds of surf into something closer to fog drifting across the sand.

La Caleta sits between two forts, Santa Catalina and San Sebastian, in the oldest part of the city — a natural harbor that Phoenician, Carthaginian and Roman ships once used to land. Its small size and city-center setting make it one of the most photographed corners of Cadiz, especially at the edges of the day when the light does most of the work.
