Dusk At Torregorda Beach Cadiz Spain

A long exposure smooths the incoming tide into ribbons of silk as it winds through the exposed rock pools at Torregorda, tracing an S-curve that leads the eye straight into a sky on fire with orange, pink and violet. This is the beach at low tide, when the flat rock shelf and its shallow channels become the real subject and the color overhead is only the second act.

At dusk, the receding water leaves behind a maze of rock pools and channels that a slow shutter turns into smooth, glassy lines, a favorite condition for photographing this stretch of coast.
