Wheathering the Storm Cadiz Spain

A quiet, incongruous scene against Cadiz's roughest weather: a woman wrapped in a bright, striped shawl sits on the seafront rocks, unmoved by the wind whipping the Atlantic into whitecaps behind her. A soft, miniature-like blur pulls the breakwater and lighthouse out of focus, so the eye lands, and stays, on her stillness.

The title plays on the English idiom "weathering the storm" — getting through hardship without lasting harm. Here it works both ways at once: a squall rolls in off the Atlantic while she waits it out on the rocks, and the shallow, dreamlike focus turns the whole frame into something closer to a diorama than a documentary shot.
